Status Bags began with one bench, two knives and a stubborn belief that a bag should outlast the season it was bought in. Fifteen years on we are nine people in a India courtyard, working with three tanneries we know by name.
Leather
Vegetable-tanned full-grain hides from Tuscan tanneries, dyed in small drums without chrome.
Making
Twenty-two hours per bag. Hand-cut panels, saddle-stitched stress points, edges waxed three times.
Keeping
Two years of free repairs, and paid restoration for as long as you own the piece.
Made to be repaired
Every bag carries a stitched serial inside its seam. Send it back and the same hands that built it will re-line, re-stitch or re-dye it.
